I’ve always gravitated toward black, white, and gray as first choices for my clothing. It’s probably because my hair is a pretty bold color, so I opt for neutrals as my go-to when getting dressed. But, luckily here in Portland, there are plenty of bold colors and graphic backdrops to accentuate your basics!

This skirt has been a favorite of mine since I grabbed in ON SALE (!) at Zara in NYC a few years back. Sadly, there’s no Zara in Portland (tear), but this skirt is one of my favorite pieces. I love the bold, geometric design and its high-waisted fit. It is literally perfect for pairing with my Charles by Charles David “Jettison” OTK boots and tissue turtleneck from J.Crew. I have to say, the tissue turtleneck is one of the BEST  basics I’ve ever invested in. J.Crew offers it in a great range of colors and you can wear it tucked in for the office or casually untucked with jeans. Definitely a must-have for fall.
