What do you do when you’re stuck in rainy Portland? Head for the high desert – Bend, OR! We took it upon ourselves to put Portland in the rearview mirror this past weekend and drive out to Bend.

Bend is a perfect small town just on the other side of the Willamette Forest.Sunny skies, sweet smelling sage, and great coffee awaited us. Our morning stroll through Drake Park showed us how absolutely gorgeous the fall leaves had become (and a great doughnut spot – it doesn’t count on vacation, right?)!

The BEST part of the weekend by far though, was watching the Cubs make it to the World Series! Go Cubs!! Thanks Bend, we’ll be back! 🙂
